Announcement from The office of the European Sakya Monlam Association.<\/h2>\n

Note: This is an event which is free of charge, and you do not have to be a Buddhist to take part. You will have to arrange your own transportation and accommodation. It will be an exciting gathering of some of the highest lamas in the Sakya tradition to pray for world peace. The official announcement follows:<\/em><\/p>\n

Dear dharma Sisters and Brothers,<\/p>\n

The European Sakya Monlam Foundation is organising the First Great Sakya Monlam in Europe.<\/p>\n

\"Khenpo<\/p>\n

The purpose of the gathering is to pray for the long life and for the fulfilment of the wishes of dharma teachers such as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trichen Dorje Chang, His Holiness Luding Khenchen Dorje Chang, His Holiness 42nd Sakya Trizin and for all other great dharma teachers and practitioners.<\/p>\n

It also has the purpose of praying for harmony, and pacification of all signs of degeneration around the world and for its habitants to enjoy peace and happiness. In particular, it will pray for the end of the deterioration of our home, the Land of Snows, and its people. Ultimately the gathering will pray for all sentient beings to reach complete enlightment.<\/p>\n

His Holiness Kyabgon Sakya Gongma Trichen, His Holiness 42nd Sakya Trizin and His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche will preside over the Prayers. Many high lamas of the Sakya tradition will be in attendance as well as many tulkus, khenpos, and lamas from various traditions. All are invited to this non-sectarian prayer festival for world peace!<\/p>\n
